Giving the gift of education - US Elementary School sends 20,000 pencils to Rwanda
When Callum, an elementary student in Sycamore, Illinois, decided to start a pencil drive for their partner school in Rwanda, he set his sights on collecting 5,000 pencils. His school, North Grove Elementary School, is connected with Kazo Primary School in Rwanda through HfC’s school to school partnership. Thanks to the Early Act students and Principal, Ryan Janisch, they implemented the project and School Toolbox did a matching gift of 10,000 pencils.
Overall, they exceeded the original 5,000 goal by collecting 20,000 pencils for the students in Rwanda. HfC thanks Callum, his family, the students and administrators of North Grove Elementary School for their generosity and for giving the gift of education.
Thank you North Grove Elementary School!
