HfC & Northern Illinois University Soccer Partnership
HfC has been partnering with Kazo Futbol Club in a remote area of Rwanda to use soccer (futbol) to keep kids in school, to teach nonviolent conflict resolution, and to promote healthy decision-making regarding HIV, alcohol, and drugs.
In May, HFC brought players from Northern Illinois University - a NCAA Division 1 program— to Rwanda to become Goodwill Soccer Ambassadors. They worked with more than 450 soccer-playing kids and also visited more than 35 elementary and secondary school classes.
